Leven Rambin loves jogging the Coastal Trail, driving along the scenic corridors on Highway 1 and strolling the aisles at New Leaf Community Market. Upon moving into a Half Moon Bay hotel room about a month ago, the “Of Men and Mavericks” actress has fallen in love with her home away from home.
“I love driving on (Highway) 1 from Santa Cruz to Half Moon Bay,” she said. “It looks like heaven out there when the sun is shimmering off the water.”
Rambin is from Texas and started acting at the age of 14. After working several years on television series including “All My Children” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” she moved to California about three years ago.
“Of Men and Mavericks” is her second movie. She’s playing late surfer Jay Moriarity’s wife, Kim Moriarity. To better play the part, the starlet has been hanging out with Moriarity, talking about her life experiences and her relationship with the legendary surfer.
During her time here, Rambin has been learning to surf.
With only a few more days of filming left on the coast, the Review caught up with Rambin to hear her impressions of the Coastside.
Favorite beaches: Leven Rambin says Mavericks and Pomponio State Beach are her favorite oceanside spots.
When not filming: She says she’s spent a lot of time at New Leaf and she’s visited Pasta Moon, Main Street Grille and Cameron’s Restaurant and Inn. She stopped by Music Hut to pick up an Adele CD as well.
What she’ll take home: Memorabilia from Mavericks Surf Shop.
